Happy Homework!!

On Monday September 11, 2017 FKES 2nd graders will get their first homework packet of the school year. Please click on the video above for a wonderful explanation of how to complete the homework packet, featuring your favorite 2nd grade teachers! :)

Each child will also receive their own homework helper. Please take good care of it and return it at the end of the school year. It will be your best friend as you do your homework every night.

We had a wonderful first week of school in 2nd grade!

We reviewed behavior expectations for all areas of the school. Please rewatch these videos with your child and discuss how they can follow the rules at arrival and dismissal, in the bathroom, in the hallways, in the cafeteria, at recess, and on the bus.

Culture Questionnaire

On Tuesday January 3, 2017 your child brought home a blue piece of paper with a culture questionnaire. This assignment is separate from their regular homework packet. Your child should interview you and other family members about their culture: what countries your family comes from, holidays you celebrate, special clothes/food/music, etc. Please make sure only your child is filling out the questionnaire and have them return it as soon as possible. We will be using their answers to create a culture quilt in class to showcase our cultural heritage. Thank you in advance for your timely completion of this assignment and your support of your child’s education.
